Inspired by Star Trek TOS Episode "Requium for Methuseleh", one of my favorite episodes of all time. The poem is also written by me but of course also inspired by the episode. Please comment and tell me what you think.
this is really nice. Poor Kirk. And i also like how Wikipedia explains this:
Kirk remains distraught over Rayna, and McCoy states that he is sorry for his friend's pain, but that he is even more sorry for Spock, who will never feel the joys and sorrows of love, and will never know what love can drive a man to do. After McCoy leaves the room, Spock uses a Vulcan mind meld on a sleeping Kirk and utters the word "forget", presumably causing the Captain to forget Rayna or at least to forget the pain.
This is so sweeeeeeeet!! Love both the ppic and the words and I think that's exactly what Spock thought!!! I persoanlly even think he only took Kirk's pain away, not the complete memory and your words do express that for me. Wonderfull!!!
I just watched that episode last night. That part I felt so horrible for Kirk, I really wanted to hug him. And then Spock made him forget and I wanted to hug Spock, to me you really see just how much Kirk means to Spock with that one move. I dont know why that's just my oppinion.
Oh yay somebody agrees with me, I'm glad that you agree. I thought maybe I was weird or something. Yeah that speech Bones gave him was really nice, though I think that Spock may have done it even without Bones' speech. I loved that speech though, it made me smile.
I think the reason I see how much Kirk means to him in that scene is due to a few facts. One that Vulcans dont do a mind meld without somebodies permission, but Spock did. And the fact that Vulcans dont really like to touch people. For Spock as a Vulcan to wipe his memory when his species are so into knowledge has to mean something. And it was just really sweet of him to do that.
